A change may be brewing among planning leaders of Sherwood. Among some, there is a desire to require stricter building standards so Sherwood looks more appealing. On the other hand, those stricter standards do come at a higher building cost.

The Jacksonville City Council on Thursday night conducted a first reading of a proposed ordinance that would ban the use of razor or barbed wire.
